Kathy brings over 40 years of business experience to Flat Tops Construction, serving as a steady, guiding force behind the company’s success. With a strong background in management and exceptional people skills, she plays a critical role in keeping operations organized, efficient, and aligned with the company’s goals. Highly motivated and detail-oriented, Kathy ensures the team stays on track while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Her leadership provides the stability and direction Flat Tops Construction depends on, helping drive both day-to-day performance and long-term growth. Kathy’s ability to connect with people, solve problems, and maintain focus under pressure makes her an invaluable part of the organization.

Outside of work, Kathy enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. She loves golfing, working out, exploring the desert, riding side-by-sides, and relaxing at the beach. A devoted dog lover, she values time spent with her family—her husband and two kids—who are at the center of everything she does.

OFFICE ASSISTANT

Kaila Colasanti is a dedicated Office Assistant at Flat Tops Construction, bringing over 15 years of experience in people management and office operations. With a strong background managing teams of 15 or more for large radio station companies, Kaila has developed exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills that translate seamlessly into the construction industry.

Her expertise behind the scenes plays a vital role in keeping Flat Tops Construction running efficiently and on track. From coordinating daily operations to supporting team members and clients, Kaila helps ensure every project stays on a smooth and steady path forward.

Outside of work, Kaila is a devoted wife and mother of two who values quality time with her family. She enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and relaxing at the beach whenever she can. A true animal lover, she also adores her two dogs, Lennie and Rip. Kaila’s balance of professionalism and strong family values makes her an essential part of the Flat Tops Construction team.

FOUNDER/CEO/OPERATOR

Ritchie is a Colorado native and the founder of a Flat Tops construction company built on hard work, craftsmanship, and a lifelong passion for building. Raised around job sites, he began learning the trade at a young age alongside his father, gaining hands-on experience that shaped his deep understanding of construction from the ground up. Over the years, he developed his skills into a career, becoming an experienced excavator operator and respected builder.

Ritchie takes pride in creating and building homes, driven by the satisfaction of seeing a project come to life from start to finish. His attention to detail and commitment to quality reflect both his upbringing and his dedication to the craft.

Outside of work, Ritchie is a devoted husband and father of two. When he’s not on a job site, he enjoys spending time with his family, riding dirt bikes, and fishing—making the most of Colorado’s outdoors that he’s called home his entire life.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER / CBO

Richard Eaton is a seasoned construction manager with over 50 years of hands-on experience, bringing unmatched knowledge, craftsmanship, and leadership to every project he touches. He began his career in the boat building industry, working with Knight & Carver in California, where he developed a strong foundation in precision, attention to detail, and high-quality finishes.

In the early 1990s, Richard relocated to Colorado, where he expanded his expertise into the construction industry. Over the years, he played a key role in building car dealerships for Land Rover, further sharpening his project management skills and deepening his understanding of large-scale construction. He eventually found his niche in residential construction, specializing in home building and fine finish trim work—areas where his eye for detail and commitment to excellence truly stand out.

Today, Richard’s decades of experience serve as a cornerstone for Flat Tops Construction, helping guide the company with the knowledge and standards necessary to deliver exceptional quality in a competitive industry. His dedication to craftsmanship and doing things the right way continues to influence every project and team he works with.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys off-roading through the desert in his side-by-side, fishing, camping, and spending time cooking and grilling in the backyard. Hanging out with his grand kids whenever possible. He also loves relaxing at the beach and soaking up the sun whenever he gets the chance.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Jim Otto is a dedicated construction superintendent whose work ethic and leadership set the tone for every project he’s involved in. Known for his organization and reliability, Jim shows up every single day—rain or shine—ready to get the job done. He plays a critical role in keeping projects on schedule, ensuring each phase moves forward efficiently while maintaining the high standards that Flat Tops Construction is known for. His strong leadership, attention to detail, and ability to keep crews motivated make him an invaluable asset in the field.

Jim is also driven by a constant desire to improve, always willing to learn new techniques and adapt to the evolving demands of the construction industry. His commitment to Flat Tops Construction and its clients is evident in the pride he takes in every project he oversees.

Outside of work, Jim fuels his passion for adventure. Whether it’s riding hard enduro, desert racing, or exploring the backcountry on his dirt bike, he thrives in the outdoors. He enjoys camping and overlanding in his Ford Excursion, often chasing the next great experience. When he can, Jim heads south to Mexico—where you’ll find him riding along rugged terrain before winding down by the beach with a cold cerveza in hand.

CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Forrest is a skilled carpenter with a sharp eye for detail and years of hands-on experience in woodworking. His craftsmanship and dedication to precision make him an essential part of the Flat Tops Construction team, where he plays a key role in bringing the finishing touches and aesthetic vision of each home to life. Forrest takes pride in his work, ensuring every detail meets the highest standard of quality and design.

Outside of work, Forrest enjoys spending time in the outdoors, whether it’s camping under the stars or riding dirt bikes through rugged terrain. He also values time with friends and family, making the most of every opportunity to connect and unwind.
